Pee Dee Healthy Start, operating in Chesterfield, Darlington, Dillon, Florence, Marion, Marlboro, and Williamsburg Counties, is a prominent 501(c)3 nonprofit organization with a 30-year track record of effective community service in the Pee Dee region. Established in 1991, this initiative emerged in response to alarming rates of infant mortality, low birth weight infants, and insufficient healthcare for women of childbearing age, particularly in the rural counties of South Carolina’s Pee Dee region.
