Real Talk: A Community Response to Opioids hosted by Pee Dee Healthy Start, Inc.

Pee Dee Healthy Start, Inc. will host a powerful community conversation on Thursday, November 20th titled Real Talk: A Community Response to Opioids. This event brings together residents, professionals, and partners for an honest and supportive dialogue about the opioid crisis and its impact on families across the Pee Dee region.

The program will feature a live discussion of lived experiences, and practical information focused on understanding addiction, prevention, treatment options, and the resources available to families. The goal is to build awareness, reduce stigma, and strengthen community connections that support healing and long-term wellness.

“Our community deserves a space to learn, ask questions, and feel heard,” said Pee Dee Healthy Start Executive Director Madie A. Robinson. “This conversation is about empowering families with information and building a united response that saves lives.”

Attendees will experience a combination of storytelling, open dialogue, and resource sharing. To close the event, we will premiere a catalog of videos created during this phase of our outreach efforts. These videos highlight real experiences, prevention insights, and local voices committed to healing our community.
